Revolution is real
At a certain point, the rebels become local heroes. Kristjan Peäske, owner of Lee, is one of these. A champion of modern Estonian craft drinks, a defender of small farmers, a lover of simplicity and casual elegance and quality, he made his mark as someone who believes in local quality when others were perhaps more dubious and not ready to commit and support.
Together with chef Janno Lepik, they host a restaurant that is set in a quite hidden but very romantic garden in the middle of Old Town. With grace and pride they search for the best farmers and seasonal ingredients that the land can offer, and serve them gently cooked or just freshly combined, without any fuss or frills. The wine list is a marvellous exposition of organic, natural and biodynamic bottles from eccentric modern producers. Naturally they also include Estonian wines, of surprising quality.
